End of School Year

End of School Year

Mr Smith’s class

It has been a very busy and active final month of 2nd class for the boys in our class.

We have been continuing or Olympic schools challenge daily.

We have also some nature walks to see how nature is constantly changing particularly the trees around our school grounds.

Our class is following the European Football Championships closely. We have each drawn a team to follow and everyone has researched our team and country and compiled a fact file.

We really enjoyed Active Schools’ Week Sports day. Mr McLoughlin worked with us during this week. Thanks Mr McLoughlin.

We enjoyed the percussion workshop we had this month.

We got to go swimming in Nenagh Leisure Centre too.

It was a super month and we look forward to our holidays.

We had a really fun moth of June.

This month we reached Tokyo! We completed our journey of 13752km by taking part in lots of daily activities. We really enjoyed our Active School Week. We took part in lots of sports including circuits, footgolf, orienteering, rounders, soccer, penalty shootouts and yoga. Mr.Greene treated us to a lovely ice-cream on our Sports Day.

We enjoy a drumming session with Brian Fleming. We explored lots of African drums and were allowed to practice various beats and rhythms.

Heather brought in some rabbits for us to pet.

We finished reading our class novel called “Dancing Bear, by Michael Murpugo”.

In SESE we explored the many tourist attraction sites around Ireland. We learned about the different types of communication and about electricity through the years.

We also had a lovely day out to finish second class off on a high. We swam in the local swimming pool and enjoyed a trip to the park afterwards. We are all looking forward to a great summer.

Ms Comerford’s class

Room 1 have really enjoyed the last month in school. We had an amazing active week including a sports day full of activities, river walks, rugby,  yoga with Mrs. Sheary, mindfulness exercises and a trip to Nenagh castle. We also had a visit from the ice cream van which was a great treat for the school. We have all worked really hard in 3rd class and are excited to move forward to 4th in September with Ms. Maher. Have a lovely summer everyone!

Mr Gubbins’ class

We had loads of fun throughout the month of June – we went on the River Walk and stopped at St. John’s well and eat hot dogs and drank some juice.

We made a rocky road cake – it was delicious

Our sports day was brilliant we played loads of different activities and the ice cream van came on Friday and we all got a cone.

Ms. Maher made some buns and we got to decorate them with chocolate icing and sprinkles.

We went on a small river walk and then went to play in the playground – it was great fun.

We really enjoyed the last term in school and we would like to wish everyone a happy and safe summer holidays.

Ms Barry’s class

June was another busy month for us in 4th class. We had a lot of activities this month!

We played hurling with our coach Bertie Sherlock and had a lot of fun every Thursday.

We also started reading Harry Potter as a class and we have loved listening to the story. When we finished the book we had Harry Potter Day where we entered the classroom via Platform 9 3/4 and watched the movie, made potions and wands. It was a lot of fun! Lots of our class hope to read the second Harry Potter book over the Summer.

During June we also had Active schools week where we tried new activities such as foot golf and we did yoga with Ms. Sheary. We also did Hip Hop with another teacher.

It has been a fun month!

In Geography and Science we learned about River Systems and about some of the rivers in Ireland and then in Art we used clay to create a river and mountains. They worked out really well.

As we finish up for another school year we are very grateful to Mr. Greene, Ms. Slattery and Mary for working so hard for us all year and for all of the measures they put in place to keep us safe. Now it is time for a well earned Summer Break!
