Here in the school we are very lucky to have a Nurture Group for our pupils. The Nurture Group is designed to be a bridge between home and school. It is a place where children can feel safe and secure and therefore develop their individual needs further. The students are given the opportunity to participate in a range of activities in a relaxed, structured environment which promotes and supports their social and emotional development. There is much research evidence that children’s learning is most effective when they have a sense of emotional well-being, good self-esteem and a feeling of belonging to their school community. The Nurture Group provides children with this opportunity and helps to develop their maturity and resilience.

Activities include; preparing food, mindfulness, drama, art and crafts, excursions, circle time, outdoor games, board games, gardening, treasure hunts and nature walks.
