Here in the school we are very lucky to have a Nurture Group for the boys. The Nurture Group is designed to be a bridge between home and school. It is a place where children can feel safe and secure and therefore develop their individual needs further. The students are given the opportunity to participate in a range of activities in a relaxed, structured environment which promotes and supports their social and emotional development. There is much research evidence that children’s learning is most effective when they have a sense of emotional well-being, good self-esteem and a feeling of belonging to their school community. The Nurture Group provides children with this opportunity and helps to develop their maturity and resilience.
Our nurture group is held every morning from 8:50 to 9:30 and on Fridays from 11:00 to 12:30. Activities include; preparing food, mindfulness, drama, art and crafts, excursions, circle time, outdoor games, board games, gardening, treasure hunts and nature walks.
