Ms Comerford’s Junior Infant class
Junior Infants had an exciting end to the school term. We got to visit Tearaways Pet Farm on our school tour and we really enjoyed our trip. We saw lots of animals and had great fun playing together in the activity centre! For music day we got to learn how to play the drums and each class got to perform! We also really enjoyed our active schools week and sports day. We had dancing, gymnastics, orienteering, games and obstacle courses. We are very excited to get our summer holidays and are looking forward to starting senior infants in August.

Mr Tooher’s Junior Infant class
We had a very very busy end of term in Junior Infants.
Academically, our blending of 3 letter cvc (consonant vowel consonant) words has improved dramatically and the 6th class boys came to help us and listen to our progress. In SPHE we understood when and when not to keep a secret and how to be a good friend. In Gaeilge we mastered the 15 dathanna by finding them on our school grounds.
Socially, we made a lot of trips outside of school. We visited the Fire station, the library, the Vet Clinic and also had a garda member call to the classroom. We had a wonderful school tour in Rathcabin pet farm and we were blessed with the weather. We went on a river walk and learned lots of names of trees, plants and birds. To end the year we had a wonderful active schools week where we got to try gymnastics equipment and had a reqlly fun sports day. We will visit the Castle field on the last week for a teddy bears picnic.






Ms Glennon’s Senior Infant’s class
We had a lovely end to our school year with lots of exciting trips and
excursions. We went to Tearaways for our school tour. The sun really shone for
us on the day and we had a really fun time.
Garda Maureen and Garda Ali gave us a tour of the local garda station in
Nenagh. We got to use the walkie-talkies, visit the interview room and saw the
garda car. Garda Maureen even took our fingerprints!
Finally we had a lovely Active School Week. We enjoyed a trip to gymnastics,
Megan came to do some dance with us , we did some fun games in the GP room
and also outside. The week ended with Sports Day which was brilliant fun.
Mr.Greene treated us to an ice-cream from the ice-cream van at the end of the
day!
We have all had a fantastic year in Senior Infants and are really looking
forward to going into First Class in September.







Ms McCutcheon’s 1stclass
The boys and girls in 1 st class had a great last month in school. They enjoyed going on the River Walk
and visiting our local parks. They loved active school’s week and engaged in a range of activities.
Gymnastics, Athletics and Cricket were a huge hit! They also had a great time at Sport’s Day and
were delighted to welcome the ice-cream van. They all worked very hard this year and have earned
a well-deserved rest for the summer. Best of Luck in 2 nd class everyone!


Ms Shanahan’s 2ndand 3rdclass
June was filled with activities in our class. We read the novel Gangsta Granny and did lots of drama/writing based on this. We learned about capacity and money in Maths. We had a fun filled active week…gymnastic, dance, playgrounds and sports day. We ran a class chess tournament and enjoyed playing different opponents. We played against St. Mary’s in a soccer match. We did lots of summer Art. Wishing all the children a fun and safe summer holiday.






Ms Maher’s 6thclass
June has been a very busy month and we got to do lots of nice activities. We climbed the Millenium Cross and then went to Castlelough where we went for a walk in the wood and then went for a swim. It was a brilliant day and the boys really enjoyed.
We then had active schools week and we did the River Walk, Orienteering, Gymnastics, Athletics and then finished the week with Sports Day. We got to play the teachers in Dodge Ball – it was great fun.
We made pizza’s on Thursday they were really tasty. The boys had their graduation ceremony on Tuesday 16th and it was a very enjoyable occasion and we wish the boys the best of luck as they move on to the next chapter in their lives.












Mr O’Sullivans 6thclass
6th class has been very busy as we approach the end of the school year.
During the month of May, we made our Confirmation.
We also did our SIGMA-T’s and MICRA-T’s.
We went on our school tour to Limerick UL, There, we did a lot of different activities.
We got the 6th class jumpers.
We started and finished our novel called “Reaching The Heights.”
In Maths we learned how to solve Algebra Equations.
In June, we had our Active Schools Week.
It was a very busy week.
On Monday we went to the Fitness Factory to do Gymnastics. It was very fun and everyone enjoyed it.
On Tuesday we went to Millennium Cross and ate lunch at the top of the mountain beside the cross after that we went down to the playground at Castlelough.
On Wednesday we went to do Cricket and Orienteering. It was very fun. On Thursday we went to the Athletics Track, we did lots of different races and activities there.
On Friday we did Sports Day and we did lots of different activities and sports. Later that day we got icecream and later we played Dodge Ball against the teachers and of course, 6th class won.
For the past few days we have been getting ready for our graduation this year and we are all definitely going to enjoy it.



Mr Buckley’s class
We had a very busy final month in Mr. Buckley’s class.
We went on our school tour, did our sports day, did lots of trips around our community, made rockets astronauts and a big spaceship as part of our theme and learned fun new songs.
Overall we’ve had a very enjoyable year!




Ms Fahey’s class
We have had a very busy last term in our class. We were busy
learning all about Space this term and created some lovely Space
art! We went on a shape hunt in our classroom and learned all about
2-D and 3-D shapes also.
We had so much fun at the fire station with Mr. Buckleys class too.
We had our school tour in Clarisford Park and Ballina Playground.
We had great fun at active schools week also.
We’ve also enjoyed our swimming block this term!
