Winter is here in the CBS
Ms McLoughney’s Junior Infant class
This month, Junior Infants celebrated Science Week with plenty of exciting learning activities. We had the
chance to learn about chickens with Ms. Lee, discovering how they grow, what they eat, and how they
help us in our daily lives. The children enjoyed this hands-on lesson and were curious about all the
fascinating facts they learned about hens. In addition, we also went on a nature walk to observe the
beautiful seasonal changes from Autumn to Winter. We noticed how the leaves were changing colors and
falling from the trees, and how the air was getting colder as we moved into the winter season. In Math,
we had a fun time learning about directions. We tested our knowledge by building roads and guiding toy
cars around using the directions we learned. It was a great way to practice using words like left, right,
forward, and backward in a hands-on way.
