December was a busy and festive month in room 3. We wrote recipes for ; “The Best Christmas Ever”. Seán White won a prize for his efforts, along with Andi Durnescu, Seán Mulcahy and Mark Ryan. We learned all about Advent and made some lovely Advent Wreaths.
We created our own Christmas decorations from clay. These were hand painted and sealed ready for the boy’s Christmas trees.
In SESE we learned about Christmas traditions all around the world. Boys got to share their own traditions with the class.
We also made Christmas cards with a short message inside for people in the local nursing homes.
We learned lots of Christmas songs and recorded a festive message for our family and friends.
Finally we are all really looking forward to Santa calling next week!

Due to the new regulations, we have to wear masks in school. It feels very weird but at least we know we are safer, and we are doing our bit for the world.
We performed ‘Electric Dreams’ in class for our parents. Artiom won pizzas from Supermacs for the class with his winning spooky picture. Kacper won the best procedure for the class. Mrs McCabe read ‘The Christmas Rat’ to the class. It was written by Avi, and was a story about a boy called Eric who saves a rat in his basement from the pest control man.
We made cards and messages to send to the old Folks Nursing Homes. They should lift their spirits and wish them well for Christmas. We also made robin pictures and every day we ran the track.
