Summer is here!!!
Ms Dooley’s Senior Infant’s class
June has been a fun- filled month in Senior Infants. We kick started the month with our exciting tour to Tearaways, Pet Farm and Activity Centre. There was great excitement as the tour bus pulled away from the school and we set off on our journey to Rathcabbin. The tour didn’t disappoint with lots of fun had with all sorts of activities from a sledge run, go karts, playgrounds and our favourite barrel train! It was a wonderful day where great memories were made.
We continued the fun back in school with our exploration of the themes of “Summer” and “The Campsite”. We developed our drawing skills by engaging in directional drawing where we created delicious ice-creams and a rainbow fish. We read the story “Rainbow Fish” and chatted about sea-life. We even made a jelly fish decoration from paper plates and crepe paper.
In Maths we continued to work on the topic of money. We had a lot of fun creating rubbings of coins and playing in our “Siopa” (shop).
We were delighted to welcome lots of visitors to our school this month. We got a chance to meet Tipperary U-20 all-Ireland champions Sam O’Farrell and Jake Donelan Houlihan who brought the Munster and All-Ireland cups for us to see.
We enjoyed a great Multi-Cultural Day where lots of our pupils and families shared facts and foods from countries around the world. It was delicious! Well done to Agnieszka and Michael on their wonderful presentations!
We finished the year on a high note with a fantastic teddy bear picnic on the grass. We cannot believe that the summer holidays are almost here and we will be moving on to 1st class! Best wishes to everyone for the Summer holidays!

Ms Shanahan’s 1st class
In June we learnt all about the ancient Greeks. We learnt about two digit subtraction in Maths and did lots of revision work with our phonics. We went to the library and got books to read over the summer. We also did lots of lovely things between finishing off our work. We had a tour of Nenagh castle and a picnic on the castle grounds. We went to Nenagh town park playground and had ice pops. We had an ice-cream party in our sensory garden. We said goodbye to Isaac, Mawda, Rayyan and Timmy and we wish them good luck in their new schools. We will miss them all. Wishing everyone a great summer.

Ms McCutcheon’s 1st and 2nd class
The boys and girls in 1 st and 2 nd class had a great last month in school. They had a brilliant time in
Tearaways on their school tour at the start of the month. They also enjoyed going on the River Walk,
visiting the local parks and going on a tour of Nenagh Castle. The visit from the ice-cream van went
down a treat and they loved sampling the different foods on Mult-Cultural Day. They all worked very
hard this year and have earned a well-deserved rest for the summer. Best of Luck in 2 nd and 3 rd class!

Mr Smith’s 3rd class
Our class has been extremely busy this month.
In gaeilge, we have been ag labhairt faoin Sa bhaile agus An Teilifís.
In SESE, we have learnt all about Tom Crean and his expeditions in Antarctica. We visited Nenagh Castle. Thanks to Kevin for showing us around. It was great.
We really enjoyed our class tour to Roll’n’Bowl in Portlaoise. We had terrific fun.
We are really looking forward to the holidays.
Slán agus beannacht.

Ms Maher’s 6th class
6th class was very busy for the month of June and did loads of nice activities.
We went on our school tour to UL in Limerick, this was a brilliant day and there were lots of activities, Sam O’Farrell – the U20 captain was one of the leaders. Active Schools week was very busy and we also had our Sports Day during this week – this was great fun and sixth class finished the day by playing dodge ball against the teachers.
Sixth class were invited to Microsoft in Dublin and we showcased some brilliant projects that we had worked on with Pamela from TUS, we were one of many schools in Dublin on the day. Our projects were based on SDG’s through coding projects. We met some very techy people who told us how they got involved in coding. The boys really enjoyed the day and got to stop in Junction 14 on the way home.
We got to make hot dogs and pizza’s before we finished school, they were really tasty.
We had our graduation ceremony on Tuesday last and it was really nice and the whole school gave us a guard of honour from the front of the school to the gate, it was really nice.
Best of luck to sixth class as they move forward to the next big chapter in their life.
