Mr Tooher’s Junior Infant class

Junior Infants have been working very hard on their phase 2 sounds c,k,e,h,r,m and d.
We’ve also worked hard on number recogniton and formation with numbers 1-5.
We’ve really excelled with our 18 basic Gaeilge verbs, ag ithe, ag sugradh etc learning through knockout games.
There have been lots of elf on the shelf divilment and great snowmen and and Santa artwork.
We also practiced our poem and song for the Christmas play many times.

Ms Glennon’s Senior Infant’s class

We had a very busy few weeks in Rm15. We were kept going doing science experiments during Science Week. We learned about dancing raisins, whether oranges float or sink and we also enjoyed carrying out a skittle experiment. We had lots of fun!

For maths we learned about the number 7 and Data. It was fun to see our results represented on block graphs and pictograms. We enjoyed making the number 7 with playdough while also using concrete materials to show the number 7.

We listened to the story of The Gingerbread Man. We worked as a group to sequence the story. During the last week we even got to bake and decorate our own gingerbread person!

We worked really hard to prepare for our Christmas Show and performed really well for our families on the night. Ms.Glennon and Ms.Doyle are really proud of Senior Infants. We are looking forward to a busy and enjoyable 2026.

Ms McCutcheon’s 1st class

The boys and girls have spent much of December preparing for their Christmas Show. They have been working very hard and produced an excellent performance on the night of the concert. They looked the real deal in their costumes.

They made snowflakes and winter trees in Art and they enjoyed a walk down the town to look at the Christmas decorations.

They are counting down the days until Santa comes to visit and they are all looking forward to a well-earned break during the Christmas holidays. Well done everyone!

Ms Shanahan’s 2nd and 3rd class

December was full of Christmas fun and activities. We sang two songs at the Christmas show and everyone was excellent. We designed jars with Christmas scenes and added led lights. We also painted winter robins and snow globes. We learned about 3-D shapes and data in Maths. We wrote Christmas stories. We read lots of stories and are enjoying our class novel Ratburger. Wishing everyone a great and safe Christmas break.
